Today, JAG-A-THON, officially kicked-off. Our “fun run” will be held on Friday, October 7th. Ask your kids who came to visit them, what movie trailer they watched and then ask to see their Jag-a-thon manila envelope.
This is our school’s primary fundraiser and if we all come together and hit our goal ($85 per student), this will be our ONLY PTA sponsored major fundraiser of the year. What that means to you is no more fundraisers where we ask your family to sell “stuff”.
You can learn more, get a copy of the paperwork, or make an online donation here http://juanitael.digitalpto.com/jag-a-thon/
This Friday is our 1st Spirit Day and Popcorn Friday of the year! Have your student wear RED (our school color or Seahawk blue – if you are a Seahawks fan) and bring a couple quarters to school with them. Students are allowed to purchase 1-2 bags of popcorn bags during their lunch recess. Each bag is 50 cents.
Or simplify things for the year, complete and send in the Popcorn Pre-Purchase form. You can print and complete one now by following this link: http://juanitael.digitalpto.com/files/2014/06/2016-Popcorn-prepurchase-form-Fall.pdf
Looking for a way to work with your kids and their classmates occasionally? Consider volunteering as an Art Docent. Lesson plans will be provided so minimal prep work and leading the class is the extent of this commitment. We are planning 6-7 projects for the year, generally 1 per month, and would like 2-3 volunteers for each class. Optional training is scheduled for September 22nd at 6pm or September 30th at 9am.
To ask for more details or request to help out in a specific classroom, email firstname.lastname@example.org
PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is one of the most important groups you can join, especially while your child is in grade school. Our goal is to give each child a voice. For those that want to be involved and perhaps don’t have the time to volunteer, this is the way to do it!
To sign up for a membership, you can do it online at http://juanitael.digitalpto.com/join-the-pta/ or follow this link and print off a Membership form. http://juanitael.digitalpto.com/files/2014/06/PTA-Membership-2016-jaguar-1.pdf Once completed you can mail in the form, turn it in to the school office or simply give it to your child to give to their teacher.

Juanita’s annual Meet & Greet and PTA sponsored Ice Cream Social always marks the beginning of a new school year. If today’s turnout and smiles are any indication of how the year will go, we are predicting it’s going to be a very good one.

It’s not even the end of July yet, but it’s a HOT time to buy and find sales on school supplies. Here’s the 2016-2017 Juanita Elementary School Supply List.
Or if you are shopping at Amazon for supplies, backpacks, lunch boxes, headphones, etc…. don’t forget to first click on our school link and then shop as usual. Our PTA will earn a percentage back of your purchase price.
Today is Amazon Prime day. If you are online looking at Amazon and doing any shopping, (school supplies already?) don’t forget to click on this link first or save it to your favorites. By clicking on this link first, a percentage of your purchase will be donated to the Juanita El. PTA. Once you click on the link, it will be shopping as normal, but in this case you’ll be making a big difference for the school.
We celebrated our Juanita father’s (step-dad’s, grandpa’s, uncle’s, etc…) early this morning and what a turnout we had! It’s always amazing to see how many guys show up and how proud all our students are of these special men in their lives. Thank you for coming and a special shout out to Uriel Martin, for leading our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program this year.
Also, a special thanks to all the people that made this event possible (Stephanie, Sue, Shannon, Deanne) and those that volunteered their time or goods.
Don’t forget this Friday is our last Family Movie Night of the year and it’s a movie your kids won’t want to miss, The Good Dinosaur! Doors open at 6pm, with the movie starting at 6:30pm. Concessions will be available for purchase (cash only). Please remember that this is not a drop off event and an adult must be present.
While this is a free event, donations are greatly appreciated and will be used to help support Outdoor Education.
Thanks to our amazing teachers that donate their time and go into everything with such a positive, fun attitude. Also, a big thanks to Juanita McDonald’s for donating a portion of their sales to Outdoor Education and to all the families and friends that stopped by and had dinner or simply made a donation.
