Outdoor Education

2013-09-16Juanita Elementary School has a long history of offering Outdoor Education to our 5th grade students and we are proud of that tradition.

Our school has partnered with IslandWood to provide your child with a once in a lifetime learning adventure that they’ll never forget.

Exciting update: We’ve recently connected with The Brightwater Center of King County and our 4th grade students will be attending a school day field trip there, that will help prepare them for 5th grade overnight camp at IslandWood.

Watch the video below to get an idea of how amazing the IslandWood Camp is for the kids!

Camp IslandWood on Bainbridge Island is a 4 day/3 night school program which immerses students and teachers in a natural diverse 255-acre outdoor campus.

Students who participate in the School Overnight Program are steeped in exploration of the natural world, giving real-life meaning to academic learning while deepening their understanding of the natural world.

In order to send all our students to this camp, fundraising is needed.

Please click on the links below to learn more about this program and what is needed from each Juanita family to make this learning adventure a reality for our students.
